Whats Really in Your Food

In Eric Schlosser’s Book Fast Food Nation, he writes about the hidden dangers that lurk inside meat. Around the early 1990s large quantities of meat were tainted with a dangerous Pathogen named E.coli, due to this many manufactures tried to recall the meat but were unable to and consequently it ended up being served to unsuspecting customers. In 1992 a girl named Lauren Beth Rudolph went to a Jack in the Box restaurant and unknowingly ate a tainted hamburger. Her parents took her to the hospital where she endured much pain and suffered three fatal heart attacks. She eventually died in her mother’s arms a few days later.

shock doctrine

Naomi Klien is the author of a book called The Shock Doctrine.  The story picks up after Hurricane Katrina Devastated New Orleans. In this Chapter Kliens most important idea that she wants to get across is that Business developers and Political figures will take advantage of Natural disasters and destroy what ever is left of the city and reform it to their image. Further more the introduction of the book explains how The Goverment can  use shock as an accessory for abusive change.
